WHAT TO DO IN THE BEACONS
Located right in the middle of the Brecon Beacons National Park, we are in one of the best areas for hill walking in the south of the UK. We know dozens of local trails, and have all the maps and guide books you might need. We can advise on the best options depending on the weather and time of year. Mountainbiking is also popular and there are several do-able routes right from the door. If you prefer road cycling there are also loads of quiet roads through superb scenery, so long as you are up for some hills! It is not just a summer destination, as a lot of the hill trails are stony and well-drained, so mud need not be a problem. Autumn can be lovely, with misty valleys, woods full of mushrooms, and colourful foliage. Winter can be great if we get a high pressure weather system, as the Beacons often get cloaked in snow, and look spectacular. You need to come equipped for all weathers at any time of year
