As long as you have some warm clothes the walking is great! About minus five at the moment, and quite a strong wind, but the trails are nice and firm, and visibility good!
Amazing hot sunny weather over here in the Beacons (sorry people on the East Coast). Mountain tarn swimming and cycling in sleeveless vests have been this week’s highlights.
We have availability this weekend, and the bluebells are are still out over here in the Beacons – email us on firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
A new cycle route has been planned across the Beacons from Llandeilo to Abergavenny, which can accessed by train at either end. See the full details here https://breconbeacons.wordpress.com/2016/05/10/cycle-across-the-beacons/.
First the swallows (last week) then the swifts (Monday) and now evening cycle ride in vest and shorts! (5th May)
Did a quick late afternoon jaunt up the main path from Pont Yr Daff yesterday, lovely evening, but still blooming cold on the top!
A “Geopark” training day today, in wonderful clear cold sunny weather. The Ystradfellte area, whilst famed for its waterfalls, also has fabulous karst scenery, and archaeological sites, from bronze age burial cairns, to ancient standing stones, and more recently abandoned small quarries and limekilns.
We have some new paintings on display by local artist Vicky Arnold. They are all for sale, and original oil and acrylic on board, framed and ready to go.
Nice to see the sun again after a wet and windy spell. Looks like the colder clearer weather is here for a bit now.
A glorious frosty morning, freezing fog in the valleys, sparkling sunshine on the tops!
Looks like winter has arrived, on the tops at least. More forecast for later in the week.
